What is a chiropractic center?
A chiropractic center (sometimes called a chiro center) is a clinic where doctors of chiropractic (DCs) assess and treat problems of the spine, joints and muscles, mostly with hands-on spinal manipulation, mobilization and exercise. Chiropractors are licensed in every US state, and each state board sets the scope of practice (Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards).
Is chiropractic covered by insurance?
Often, partly. Medicare Part B covers manual manipulation of the spine to correct a subluxation, when provided by a chiropractor; it doesn't cover other tests or services a chiropractor orders (Medicare.gov). Private plans vary, so read our cost and insurance guide.
